The BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) article was encouraging. Even without the federal subsidies, the total costs will be far below light rail costs.

Are there references comparing ridership, effect on traffic, etc., as compared to light rail?

I don't have a handle on that, but I do know that most light rail systems carry fairly few riders.

@Spouting Thomas, the concerns about Low T are not that 60 year olds are lower than 25 year olds. The issue is 18 year olds that are below historically normal levels for a 60 year old.

I agree with your concerns about older men getting super high testosterone, whether or not thats happening is totally separate from the issues young men face.

Good observations on biohacking. Honestly hadn't thought much about this and what its social consequences might be. Seems related to the observation that tons of people, women especially, are on SSRIs, and at this point they're having population-level effects on our national psychology.

Meanwhile we all think declining testosterone must be a bad thing, "low T" is basically an insult among the online right, but it's a valid suggestion that a 50- or 60-year-old man with a 25-year-old's T-level is a mismatch for the wife of his youth. That's not a good thing for those of us who aim to uphold our vows.

My dad had a rare disease and leaned on stuff like that as a crutch. He tried to get me into it, and some of it was helpful, but it quickly turns into an obsession. I was taking one thing (high dose of something), and my urine was turning neon. I asked him about it, and he said I also should wear sunglasses because the supplement could weaken my eyes. Smartest guy I've ever known and it didn't occur to him that taking something that's damaging a functioning, extremely critical body part for theoretical improvement might be unwise.

All that stuff is pretty expensive, too...
