A Message for Pastors and Church Leaders

Although it isn’t structured or labeled like a traditional ministry, my work here very much is a ministry. It’s an intellectual ministry - an area where we’ve long known that evangelicals need to do more.

It’s also a high impact and cost efficient ministry. My three worlds model has become the primary way the church thinks about our cultural moment. This work is changing how churches and other groups do their work and think about mission.

I hear from many of you about how valuable you think my work is to you, so I know you like me and what I’m doing. You wouldn’t have even subscribed, much less taken the time to write if you didn’t.

I have over 20,000 people on my list - basically a very large megachurch worth of people. That’s the size of the biggest church in the entire state of Indiana. I’m on track for about three million views just here this year, not counting my writings, podcast appearances and media mentions elsewhere.

In short, my ministry is reaching and impacting a lot of people. And doing it with one person and very low overhead.

If you are a pastor or church leader, I’d like to ask your church to consider financially supporting my ministry. I know your churches make a practice of supporting individuals doing ministry work. I hope you could include me among those ministries you support.

I would never equate what I do with evangelistic ministries like campus outreach or overseas missions. But it is important work, in an area where there aren’t enough laborers in the field, and it’s being done very cost effectively.

I am not looking for a $50,000 check or anything like that. What I’m hoping for is a few churches or organizations to support me with a small recurring contribution of $100 or $250 per month.

As a token of my gratitude, I would be happy to give full subscriber status to every employee of churches that support me (as long as they have an email address on the church’s domain). For those at the higher amount, I’m also willing to direct four hours over the course of next year working on your specific problems and challenges.
