I like Levin's characterization of Congress as a group of passive, TV actors now. They could constrain the executive, they could constrain the courts. I agree in seeing them as the root cause of a lot of our current government disfunction.

I especially appreciate how he helps us understand how we got to where we are and helps us to move beyond easy political solutions to complext national problems. If we are going to recover as a Nation then it won't be accomplished through grand, National platforms but thorugh the recovery of mediating insitutions.
